Short Description
The simulation of energy distribution infrastructures has a long and successful tradition in different fields of engineering. Especially in the field of electrical networks, very powerful tools are available, without which the planning and operation of networks would not be conceivable. Likewise, simulation tools have become indispensable for the planning and operation of district heating and cooling systems. Generally, the functionality of these tools is linked closely to current utility practice. This has the advantage of allowing a domain-specific optimisation of methods and models and provides at the same time domain experts with the best possible tools for their respective tasks.
The main aim of simulating local energy systems is to increase the transparency of the technical and economic viability of innovative multi-energy projects integrating storage.
